The Duke try's to resolve a bad situation, hampered by the Lords charge and fierce cavalry pinning him down, his men forge on to make a difference to the sheer wall of fire from the reds.
Unfortunately it is not enough and with their Duke's where 'bouts and condition unknown, they fold after a bloody melee. Very few foot and cavalry ensure the Dukes safety, a cheer goes up from Lord Walters men, finally justice !
Although complete fiction, elements have been used to make it personal and fun above all else!
I'm using ideas from the 'Imagi-nation' school of wargaming, it makes things fun and easy, you keep feel of the period with added fun factor of making the land and forces your own!
This is a good talk of 'imagi-nation':

A whole load of play testing is needed and not enough time for playing!
Eventually I would like to be using 6mm/15mm figures for this game, it's something to aim for.
Of course rules need work, and concepts need ironing out, but for now, I'm reasonably happy, all be it with a few mistakes!
I'm dabbling with cavalry only needing a 4,5,6 for melee, and other rule swaps, but it's all good fun.
Do not worry about not having a hit/misfire dice set, simple take 2 different coloured d6' say a white and a red die. Have the red die as 1 is a misfire, the rest don't count and the white as 6 is a hit, the rest of the numbers depict arrows.
Sadly for now back in the tub they go!
